About Now & Well

Hi, I’m Margarita.

I became an esthetician in 1999, which means I’ve had a front-row seat to more skincare trends than I can count.

I’ve watched miracle ingredients come and go.

I’ve watched products disappear and come back years later with prettier packaging and a better marketing department.

And I’ve watched women become more confused — not less — as the number of products, devices, routines, influencers, trends, and opinions continued to grow.

But one thing hasn’t changed:

Women want to understand what actually makes sense for their skin.

That has always been the part of this work I love.

Not just recommending something. Explaining why.

Helping someone look at all the noise and finally say:

“Okay. Now I understand.”

Why Now & Well?

Midlife changes things.

Sometimes your skin.

Sometimes your body.

Sometimes your priorities.

Sometimes all three decide to change at the same time, just to keep things interesting.

And for me, this isn’t something I’m watching from the outside.

I’m living it too.

I know what it feels like to suddenly feel like you’re in a different body.

To have hot flashes show up uninvited.

To deal with dryness where there didn’t used to be dryness.

To look at your skin and think, “Excuse me, we had an agreement.”

To notice that things you used to enjoy don’t feel quite the same because your body has decided to add stiffness, aches, pain, fatigue, or a little extra negotiation into the experience.

I know what it’s like to not quite feel like yourself.

To wonder if your motivation is coming back.

To question things you used to enjoy.

To realize your priorities are changing.

To become a lot less tolerant of things you used to put up with.

“Is this temporary?
Or is this just who I am now?”

Somewhere in the middle of all of that, I also realized something else.

I don’t want to spend this stage of my life fighting aging like it’s some kind of personal failure.

Aging is part of life.

But accepting that doesn’t mean I’ve stopped caring about how I look, how I feel, or how I take care of myself.

I still want to look younger than my age.

I want to feel strong.

I want to exercise more.

I want to take wellness more seriously.

I want to give my skin and my body the care they need now instead of expecting them to respond the way they did ten or twenty years ago.

And I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that.

For a lot of women, we’ve spent years putting everyone else first.

Children.

Partners.

Parents.

Work.

Businesses.

Households.

Everyone else’s appointments, problems, schedules, and needs.

“Hi. Remember you?”

That’s a big part of why I created Now & Well.

Not because I think women need another place telling them what’s wrong with them.

And definitely not because I think the answer to every change is another product.

I created it because I wanted the kind of place I was looking for too.

A place where we can talk honestly about what’s changing.

Skin.

Beauty.

Wellness.

Energy.

Devices.

Products.

The weird things nobody warned us about.

The things we want to improve.

And the things we’re still trying to understand.

A place where getting older doesn’t mean giving up on wanting to look good, feel good, and take care of yourself.

And where wanting those things doesn’t mean you’re afraid of aging.

It just means you’re paying attention.

Now & Well grew from a very simple idea:

Women deserve thoughtful beauty and wellness guidance without feeling like every answer ends with:

“Here — buy this.”

Sometimes I’ll tell you something looks worth considering.

Sometimes I’ll tell you I don’t think you need it.

Sometimes the answer may be to add something.

Sometimes it may be to simplify.

And sometimes it may just be:

“No. Save your money.”

Because after more than 25 years in aesthetics — and now living through this stage myself — I believe women deserve better than more noise.

We deserve information that helps us understand what’s happening, make smarter choices, and take care of the woman we are now.

Both answers matter.

You don’t need everything.
You need what works for you now.

A few things I believe.

01

More is not always better.

Your skin does not win a prize because your routine has nine steps.

02

Expensive does not automatically mean effective.

There are excellent expensive products. There are also expensive products with excellent marketing. Those are not the same thing.

03

A trend is not personalized advice.

What works beautifully for one woman may make absolutely no sense for another.

04

You should understand why you’re buying something.

If we can’t explain why it belongs in your routine, it probably shouldn’t be there.

05

Midlife is not a problem to fix.

Things change. That doesn’t mean the answer is to spend the next twenty years fighting yourself.

06

Taking care of yourself should make life easier.

Not become another full-time job.

You don’t need everything.

You need what works for you now.

That’s the philosophy behind everything you’ll find here.

Skincare.

Beauty technology.

Wellness.

Consultations.

Recommendations.

Education.

Less guessing. Better choices. Smarter self-care.

Not sure where to begin?

If your skin is the thing that brought you here, start there.
